School Leaders Breakfast 2026

Join us for a thought provoking session exploring how play, physical activity, and physical education support children’s learning, behaviour, and overall wellbeing.

Gregor Fountain, Sport New Zealand’s Strategic Engagement Manager and former Principal of Wellington College, will share key insights from the Active Bodies, Active Minds report. Drawing on both research and real world experience, Gregor will highlight how schools are making movement a deliberate and valued part of everyday learning.

You’ll have the opportunity to reflect on how physical activity currently shows up in your school’s priorities, environment, and daily practice, and explore small but impactful ways to support tamariki to move, play, and thrive.

We are offering two sessions, with one held in Dunedin and one in Balclutha, making it easier for schools across the region to attend. This professional development is aimed at primary and intermediate school teachers and principals.

This is a free event. Please speak to your HAL Advisor if you require teacher release funding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
