Sports Strapping Clinics – Beginner & Advanced

Learn practical sports strapping skills at Sport Waitaki's upcoming clinics in Ōamaru, designed to support coaches, volunteers, players, and anyone involved in sport or active recreation.

Delivered by experienced practitioners Mike Stewart and Joel Brosnan from Oamaru Physiotherapy, alongside Carol Harding, Head of Medic Services for North Otago Rugby, these hands-on sessions will guide you through key strapping techniques used to support athletes on and off the field.

Two clinics are available:

Beginner Strapping Clinic – Wednesday 18 March, 7pm

Cost: $5 to help cover the cost of tape

Ideal for those new to strapping. This session will cover the basics of using tape and introduce a few simple, practical strapping techniques.

Advanced Strapping Clinic – Wednesday 8 April, 7pm

Cost: $5 to help cover the cost of tape

Designed for those with some prior knowledge, this session will explore more advanced strapping techniques and build on the fundamentals.

Both clinics will be held at Athletic Marist Rugby Club. Organised by Sport Waitaki, they are delivered with the support of Oamaru Physiotherapy, North Otago Rugby, and USL Sport Healthcare.
