Play Box - Try Something New

As part of the early childhood and schools programmes at Sport Otago, our goal is to provide as many Otago children with opportunities to develop their fundamental movement skills and engage them in active lifestyles.  We have established a Play Box that has a wide range of equipment available for Early Childhood Centres and Schools.

Terms and Conditions

  • Certified centres, organisations, and schools are eligible to hire this gear.
  • The hire period is for one month only, excluding the #20. Event Kit which is weekly hire.
  • Items can be collected from Sport Otago (Sargood Centre, 40 Logan Park Drive) on the last Friday of every month from 3.30pm - 5.00pm.
  • Items hired must be returned to 40 Logan Park Drive on the last Thursday of the month. Failure to return this equipment on time will result in a $30.00 late fee (excluding #18, #19A, and #19B - late fee is $50.00 per kit).
  • In the case of being unable to return the equipment to 40 Logan Park Drive, a travel and mileage fee will be applied (minimum of $100.00).
  • Equipment is to be returned in good condition. A cleaning fee may be charged if the equipment is returned in an unacceptable condition. Please do not undertake any repairs yourself, nor get any repairs actioned without Sport Otago’s knowledge.
  • If any equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged while in your possession, you are obligated to pay the full cost to repair and/or replace the equipment.
  • The equipment is being used at your own risk and Sport Otago is not liable for any injury or accident caused by the use or possession of this property.
  • Hire fee is $15.00 per kit (excluding #18 which is $50, and #19A and #19B which are $25.00 each).
  • Payment can be made via direct credit (details will be sent to you via email) or cash. Items must be paid for before they are picked up, otherwise will not be issued.
