(2012 Fixed Term Position, School year)

South Otago – 25 hours per week

The Sport Activator programme is an initiative funded by the participating schools and Sport Otago’s KiwiSport Regional Partnership Fund.

The principal aims of this programme are to increase the level of fundamental sporting skills in children through the delivery of practical sessions for students, professional development for teachers, and the development of pathways to local sports clubs.

There will be particular emphasis on the delivery of sports identified by the children through school surveys.

The position requires applicants to possess:

• Experience in the delivery of sport to children and teachers.
• Knowledge of the principles of coach and volunteer education.
• Experience in working in the education and sporting sectors.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational ability.
• An ability to motivate others.
