Sport Clutha is a partnership between Sport Otago, the Clutha District Council, the Clutha Licensing Trust, the Otago Community Trust and the Otago Southern Region Primary Health Organisation (PHO), which aims to address the sport and recreation requirements of those based in Balclutha and the greater Clutha region.
About Sport Clutha Sport Clutha is a regional office of Sport Otago established in October 2006 to address the sport and physical activity needs of the Clutha community and co-ordinate access to the range of services available through Sport Otago. Sport Clutha follows on from the successful Sport Central, established in 2003, and Sport Waitaki, established in 2004. The Sport Clutha project will encompass the geographic boundaries of the Clutha District including the townships of Milton, Waihola, Lawrence, Kaitangata, Owaka, Clinton, Clydevale, Tapanui and Balclutha.

Sport Clutha District Coordinator
Local sporting identity, Kelvin Carruthers, was appointed to the position of Sport Clutha District Co
ordinator in October 2006. Kelvin is well known in the Clutha District having lived in the area for his entire life, with the exception of one year spent travelling overseas. He has been heavily involved in sport during that time having coached rugby for the past two decades and has coached the Otago Country rugby team. Click here for Kelvin's full profile.
