Jane is from Central Otago and joined the Sport Otago Board in 2011. She lives near Alexandra and has a strong involvement in rural affairs, sport, education, and the environment.
Jane has owned and leased farms since 1989 in Marlborough and Central Otago, farming sheep, beef, deer, and small seeds. She also has business interests in fishing and aquaculture. Jane was a member of the Otago Polytechnic Council for five years and is currently a director of Landcorp Farming Ltd.
Jane is part of a sports-mad family that competes in a wide range of individual and team sports. Family members (including three school-aged children) are involved in sport most days of the week. The family are currently involved in sailing, white-water kayaking, and multisport in summer, and in winter the focus shifts to ski racing, ice sports, hockey, rugby, and squash. Jane enjoys mountain biking, tramping, skiing, skating, orienteering, kayaking, and is learning to sail. |
